We're glad to announce the new version of Active Query Builder ASP.NET Edition. You can download the newest version or request the trial at the download page.

What's new in the Active Query Builder ASP.NET Edition version 0.6?

Breaking changes: Add the new module to your "Web.config" file.
See the name="HttpModule" line at the Step 3 of the Quick Start Guide.

  • Database objects tree is re-designed. Now it looks like a plain list with a set of combo boxes at the top to group objects by database, schema and object type. Paging and quick filter by object name is available at the bottom.
  • The new ObjectTree.VisiblePaginationLinksNumber property is added to define the number of visible pagination links at the bottom of the database objects tree.
  • The new ObjectTree.GroupingType property is added to allow customizing of the database objects grouping. Available values of this property are the following: None, Database, Type, DatabaseSchema, DatabaseType, TypeDatabase, DatabaseSchemaType, DatabaseTypeSchema, TypeDatabaseSchema.
  • The new ObjectTree.SortingType property is added to sort objects in the tree. Available values of this property are the following: None, Name, TypeName, SchemaTypeName.
  • The new QueryBuilderControl.MultipleQueriesPerSession property (boolean) is added to allow building of multiple queries in separate browser windows. This feature is disabled by default.
  • The FieldListOptions property is moved from QueryBuilderControl to Canvas.
  • The new "LoadJQuery" key is added to the "appSettings" section of the "web.config" file. Setting it to "false" instructs the component not to load jQuery.
  • The new sample projects are made to demonstrate handing of the client-side events and integrating component into MVC structure.
  • Now cookies are used to maintain ASP.NET session only.
  • Compatibility with .NET Framework v.3.5 is improved.

Testimonials

We have been using Active Query Builder for over a year and must say that both the product and support have been outstanding!

We chose Active Query Builder due to its flexibility and features, but have been truly pleased by its power and hidden capabilities. ...

In summary Active Query Builder provides excellent components, great support and a very flexible feature set. It has allowed us to provide features to our end users that I did not think would be possible in the first release of our new tools and in a timeframe that was much shorter than planned. I would recommend that anyone dealing with databases in the .Net world should be aware of this component and its capabilities!
