Active Query Builder .NET Edition 1.17 released.

What's new in the Active Query Builder .NET Edition version 1.17?

  • SQL Text Editor improvements:
    • SQL Text Editor and Expression Editor can be localized now using the QueryBuilder's Language property and its language files. The new strings to localize are added to the "en.xml".
    • The new Ctrl-Alt-Space shortcut is made to show the list of actual query objects only.
    • Text Find and Replace dialogs are made. Available shortcuts:
        Ctrl-F3  - Quick find the selected word or a word under cursor.
        F3       - Find next.
        Shift-F3 - Find previous.
        Ctrl-F   - Show Find Dialog.
        Ctrl-H   - Show Find and Replace Dialog.
    • The new ShowFindDialog and ShowFindAndReplaceDialog methods are added.
    • The ShowLineNumbers property is made.
    • The ReadOnly property is made.
    • Text drag and drop is implemened.
    • The ValidateContextMenu event is added to allow customization of context menus.
    • The new events are added: PreProcessKey, PostProcessKey, PreProcessMouseDown, PreProcessMouseMove, PreProcessMouseUp.
  • Expression Editor improvements:
    • Active sub-query object list is added.
    • Drag and drop of objects from lists to editor is made.
    • The new SQLBuilder property is added to define the query text formatter to format long expressions.
  • General improvements:
    • The new properties were added for more customizable SQL query text formatting:
       PlainTextSQLBuilder.DynamicIndents: allows to indent the next item in the list to the same position as the first item;
       PlainTextSQLBuilder.DynamicRightMargin: instructs the component not to take into account leading spaces when counting line lenght to wrap;
       SQLBuilderFromClauseFormat: NewLineBeforeComma, NewLineAfterJoinExpression;
       SQLBuilderItemsListFormat (formats SELECT list, GROUP BY and ORDER BY items): NewLineBeforeComma.
    • The "+" button is added to the Union Navigation Bar to ease addition of new unions.
    • The double click on a field in a data source adds new item to the query columns list without marking it selected for output now.
    • Field alias is used now as tab caption for expression sub-queries that are used as fields in the parent query.
    • The new syntax provider for Microsoft SQL Azure databases is added. (MSSQLAzureSyntaxProvider)
    • Changing of the QuoteAllIdentifiers and ObjectPrefixSkipping properties does not clear the query any more.
    • QueryStatistics.OutputColumns[i].ColumnName is always unquoted now.
    • Performance optimizations are made.
