Active Query Builder ActiveX Edition 1.3 released

We're glad to announce the new minor version of Active Query Builder. You can download the newest version from the download page.

What's new in the Active Query Builder ActiveX Edition version 1.3?

  • The new LayoutSQL property is added to store layout of currently builded query (position of database objects within the Query building area) in XML format. Read this property to retrieve SQL and its layout from the component; write back to this property to restore previously saved XML.
  • The new Clear method is added to empty currently builded SQL query at a time.
  • We have speeded up the process of retrieving fields of database objects.
  • Predictive input is implemented for all inplace combo-box editors in the Columns pane.
  • Now properties TableNodeVisible, ViewNodeVisible and ProcedureNodeVisible have an effect on tabs of the Add Object Window.
  • The new ColumnWidthExpression property is added to define initial width of columns in the Columns pane.
  • Fixed bug with impossibility to register OCX on chineese Windows edition.
  • Fixed bug in VB6 with multiple messages "Cannot focus to disabled or invisible window".
  • Fixed AV on assigning incorrect SQL statement to the SQL property.
  • Removing a table from the Query building area didn't lead to removing corresponding rows in the Columns pane. Fixed now.
  • Other minor bugfixes and improvements.

Testimonials

We have been using Active Query Builder for over a year and must say that both the product and support have been outstanding!

We chose Active Query Builder due to its flexibility and features, but have been truly pleased by its power and hidden capabilities. ...

In summary Active Query Builder provides excellent components, great support and a very flexible feature set. It has allowed us to provide features to our end users that I did not think would be possible in the first release of our new tools and in a timeframe that was much shorter than planned. I would recommend that anyone dealing with databases in the .Net world should be aware of this component and its capabilities!
