Active Query Builder ASP.NET Edition 0.5 is released.

We're glad to announce the new version of Active Query Builder ASP.NET Edition. You can download the newest version or request the trial at the download page.

What's new in the Active Query Builder ASP.NET Edition version 0.5?

  • API improvements:
    • The new Canvas.FieldListOptions bunch of properties is added to tune the appearance of datasource field lists.
    • The new property is added to deny end-user modification of join links QueryBuilder.AllowLinkManipulations.
      The following values are available: Allow, Deny, AllowJoinTypeChanging. Setting this property to AllowJoinTypeChanging denies all operations with the links except changing of the join type.
    • New events are added to the QueryBuilderControl class:
      the CustomizeDatasourceControlFieldList event allows to customize field list of UI datasource controls at the Design Area;
      the SyntaxProviderChanged event allows to organize syntax provider changing by the end-user.
    • The LayoutSQL property is added to the QueryBuilderControl. Using it you may save and restore a query among with sizes and positions of objects within the design area.
    • The DefaultDatasourceWidth and MaxDefaultDatasourceHeight properties are added to the Canvas object to specify initial size of datasources at design pane.
    • Buttons to open properties dialogs are added to the corner of Design Pane and to the header of each query data source.
    • Ability to change direction for the control is implemented. (QueryBuilderControl.Direction = ContentDirection.RigthToLeft, new CSS file)
  • Samples and Documentation:
    • Documentation for the ActiveDatabaseSoftware.ActiveQueryBuilder.Web.Control namespace is made in Help 2 and Help 3 formats.
    • The new sample project is made to demonstate on-demand programmatic metadata loading: Dynamic Object Metadata Loading Demo.
    • Query Structure Analysis demo project is made to illustate ability of the component to analyze and modify complex SQL queries.
  • Minor bug fixes and improvements:
    • Operability of behavior properties of the QueryBuilder object is fixed: AllowSleepMode, CreateColumnAliasesFromAltNames, ParsingErrorOnUnknownObjects.
    • Wait cursor is shown on trying to create a link with unavailable data source.
    • Compatibility with the SQL Server Session State Mode is made.
    • Automatic saving of the component's state on postback is made.
    • Other minor improvements aтв bug fixes are made.
